JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd. (JCHX) has been awarded a five-year contract for underground mining services at MMG’s Khoemacau Copper Mine at Toteng, Zone 5, -Botswana. JCHX, a global mining contractor with nearly 30 years of experience, will be responsible for the development and operation of the underground mine. The project is seen as a significant step towards MMG’s goal of increasing copper production at Khoemacau.

We seek applications from suitably experienced and qualified individuals for the following positions to be based at Toteng, Zone 5:

 


a) HR BUSINESS PARTNER (1)

Summary of Position

To provide quality & efficient HR Services to the Project by ensuring that Project requirements are met, that is implementing HR processes such as Employee Relations; HR Resourcing, Talent Management; Housing payroll; Job Evaluation and Localization & Succession Planning. In addition, the position offers advisory support to line Management and staff to facilitate and enhance a constructive & positive work environment in order to meet the Project objectives.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Provide recruitment services to meet project requirements
  • Manage the industrial relationship between the company and employees and represent the company at internal and external level to reach positive solution to industrial Relations cases/issues.
  • Job Evaluation process basic knowledge.
  • Capacity Building & Talent Management.
  • Provide efficient payroll service and attendance recording for direct project employees.
  • Corporate Governance.
  • Execute transactional/Administrative Effectiveness and Records Management.
  • Permits Administration: Assist the department with expatriates’ work & resident Permits Application and renewals.
  • Reports: Assist with monthly reports compilation and submission to the client.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities and objectives assigned by the Supervisor and/ Senior Management, including annual performance goals.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • A Valid Class ‘B’ Driver’s Licence

 


b) DEVELOPMENT CHARGE UPS (3)

Summary of Position

The role as a Charge Up Operator is to assemble, position & detonate explosives in the underground mining

environment.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Interpret plans and record explosive usage for all types of firing undertaken.
  • Identify and remedy misfires; Complete thorough re-entries to work areas.
  • Charge development headings.
  • Undertake stope preparation, charging and ring hook up.
  • Ensure all materials are used and all waste is disposed of in the environmentally approved manner.
  • Ensure security over explosives.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

  • A Valid Class ‘B’ Driver’s Licence.
  • Working at heights certificate.
  • Underground Blasting License.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an underground mining environment.
  • In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity.

 


c) TRAINEE AGITATOR OPERATORS (6)

Summary of Position

The Agitator truck operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading/batching, delivery and discharging of shotcrete mix from Mine Surface/Batch Plant to Underground, as well as maintaining the good presentation of the truck and other ancillary equipment.

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Operate the concrete agitator truck safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Load, transport, and unload concrete to customer locations.
  • Ensure the truck is maintained in a safe and presentable condition.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient loading, delivery, and unloading of concrete, while also maintaining the truck and its equipment.
  • Operate mixer to produce concrete from sand, gravel, cement, and water. Adjust mixture(slump) as requested by customers at job sites.
  • Clean truck after loading and after each delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck surfaces.

Qualifications Requirements

  • BGCSE
  • A Valid Class ‘B’or EC Driver’s Licence

d) SUPPLY CHAIN GRADUATE TRAINEE (3)

Job Summary

This role aids with strategic sourcing, procurement and expediting of equipment, parts and supplies essential for mining operations in a timely manner to avoid operational disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for procurement of mining consumables.
  • Inventory management and stock control.
  • Emergency & breakdown purchasing.
  • Develop and maintain strong strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with finance for invoice processing.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities and objectives assigned by the Supervisor/Foreman, including annual performance goals.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Class B Manual Driver’s license.
  • 2 years minimum in a similar role or equivalent.
  • Negotiation prowess.
  • Pronto proficiency.

e) STORES YARDMAN (1)

Job Summary

A Stores Yard’s role involves both customer-facing and warehouse duties, including stocking shelves, processing customer transactions and managing inventory. Provides support to storeman through loading, unloading and manning the stores yard area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and Unloading Trucks
  • Counting Stock
  • Cleaning the yard and the warehouse.
  • Delivering spares to end users.
  • Assist with truck escorts when need arises

Qualifications Requirements

  • BGCSE
  • Have a valid EC license
  • Mining experience operating an Integrated IT Machine/Forklift
  • Have physical strength for lifting.

f) TRAINEE NIPPER (5)

Job Summary

The Trainee Nipper role is an entry-level position responsible for assisting underground mining operations, particularly in transporting tools, materials, and equipment, while ensuring safety and efficiency standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety protocols and report hazards immediately.
  • Ensure workplaces are kept tidy and safe.
  • Participate in training programs to advance into more skilled underground roles.
  • Assist the jumbo in setting up the next headings with the necessary support and during supporting and boring activities
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of BGCSE certificate (or equivalent).
  • Physically fit and able to work in underground mining conditions.
  • Advanced communication skills in the English language both written and verbal.
  • Valid Class B drivers license

g) TRAINEE TRUCK OPERATOR (10)

Job Summary

The Trainee Truck Operator will undergo structured training to safely and efficiently operate underground haul trucks. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are eager to begin a career in underground mining and are committed to safety, learning, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to operate underground dump trucks in a safe and productive manner.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and report defects or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with general underground support duties when not operating machinery.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensures optimum utilisation of the underground truck to meet daily required targets

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of BGCSE certificate (or equivalent).
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence is mandatory (Class EC will be an added advantage).
  • Advanced communication skills in the English language both written and verbal.
  • Medically fit to work in underground mining conditions.
