Nonviolent Peaceforce Recruits MEAL Consultant for Remote Role: International Development Opportunity Closes November 30, 2025

About

Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to enhancing the security and dignity of civilians in conflict-affected environments, is seeking a MEAL Consultant to support the development and integration of digital data systems across multiple country programmes. NP works globally to advance Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP), reducing violence and empowering communities through nonviolent self-protection strategies.

The consultancy plays a key role in strengthening NP’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems, improving digital processes, and enabling high-quality data-driven programme delivery.

Organisational Context

NP is currently establishing its country programme in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and expanding activities in Sudan while continuing long-term operations in Myanmar, South Sudan, Iraq and Ukraine. Across these settings, NP builds the capacity of conflict-affected communities to engage in protective accompaniment, early warning mechanisms, de-escalation techniques, and other nonviolent protection practices.

The MEAL Consultant will contribute to this mission by ensuring that all country programmes have reliable, integrated digital workflows to collect, manage, and utilise programme data efficiently.

Job Summary

The MEAL Consultant will lead the operational and IT setup of integrated digital data systems for the Sudan and DRC programmes, ensuring streamlined and secure data collection, storage, and access. The consultant will also support other NP programmes by strengthening digital tools, harmonising indicators, and improving data input and analysis processes across NP’s global platforms.

A major responsibility will be designing and implementing the integration between Kobo Toolbox and Salesforce, enabling automated data flows and facilitating real-time monitoring. The consultant will work closely with country teams and the Global Programme Team to establish standardised indicators, configure technical tools, and enhance MEAL systems to support donor reporting and programme learning.

Key Responsibilities

A. Establishment of Tools

  • Review programme indicators and ensure full understanding of definitions and requirements.
  • Assess existing NP MEAL tools and align them with the data input needs of each country programme.
  • Develop comprehensive digital data collection tools tailored to the operational realities of the Sudan and DRC programmes.

B. Systems Development and Training

  • Design, test, and implement Kobo–Salesforce integration, configuring forms, data pipelines, and dashboards.
  • Ensure all digital tools are available in required languages for field teams.
  • Work with NP’s central Salesforce team to embed Kobo tools within the global database structure, enabling consistent data interrogation and analysis.
  • Develop country-level Salesforce dashboards to support indicator tracking and programme performance reviews.
  • Create simple and exportable reporting formats suitable for Excel and donor reporting.
  • Lead system testing to confirm accuracy, usability, and functionality.
  • Deliver training to country teams on the new MEAL systems, including app-based data entry.

C. Documentation

  • Document all tools, indicators, workflows, and integration processes.
  • Prepare a handover note summarising system architecture, integration steps, and future maintenance recommendations.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3–4 years of INGO experience, ideally in protection or related fields; experience with UCP is an asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing MEAL systems in low-connectivity environments.
  • Strong technical skills in Kobo Toolbox and experience integrating digital platforms with Salesforce or similar databases.
  • Experience collecting, analysing, and managing output-level data across multiple field teams.
  • Knowledge of donor compliance requirements for monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to NP’s mandate, principles, and humanitarian values.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain reliability in complex environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing MEAL systems in low-connectivity field contexts.
  • Background in humanitarian or emergency programming.
  • Knowledge of civilian protection, peacebuilding, or human security.
  • Familiarity with the Peace Impact Framework.
