The College intends to transition to a university and In pursuit of this vision, is seeking to appoint a consummate leader, with a proven record of financial stewardship, good governance and organisational effectiveness, in the capacity of  Executive Director.

Description

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director, who is the CEO of the College, will provide visionary and strategic leadership, to ensure BAC delivers academic excellence, operational efficiency, financial sustainability and global competitiveness. The role drives the College’s transformation agenda, strengthens institutional capability and positions BAC as a regional leader in higher education.

The Job

The position will, inter alia, be responsible for the following:

  • Strategic Partner Relationship Management: Sustaining long-term partnerships by aligning BAC’s programmes with partner strategies and maximising collaboration opportunities.
  • Risk Oversight & Governance: Embedding strong governance, quality assurance and compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and standards.
  • Strategy Creation & Execution: Providing strategic direction aligned to BAC’s vision, mission and strategic plan and leading the implementation of institutional growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Business & Opportunity Development: Driving strategies that promote business development, commercialisation and client/partner relationship management.
  • Leading Change: Championing organisational transformation, innovation and change management and fostering a culture of resilience and adaptability.
  • Academic Excellence & Programme Delivery: Overseeing the delivery of high-quality academic and professional programmes responsive to industry needs, and promoting research, innovation and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Research Commercialisation & Enterprise: Advancing the conversion of research outputs into practical applications, marketable products and services and ensuring robust systems for technology transfer, venture creation and IP protection.

Minimum Requirements

The Person

The right candidate will possess the following:

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Finance, or another relevant field, or Fellow membership of a recognised Accounting professional body.
  • A PhD will be an added advantage.
  • At least Ten (10) years post qualification experience, of which five (5) should have been at executive level.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic leadership, institutional transformation and stakeholder management.
  • Proven record of financial stewardship, governance and organisational effectiveness.
  • Deep understanding of the higher education landscape and trends in professional development.
