Premium Nickel Resources Botswana (PNRB), a subsidiary of NexMetals Mining, is a dynamic and rapidly growing exploration and mining company focused on the exploration and development of base metals, with operations centered in Selebi Phikwe. As part of our continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a proactive and experienced High Tension Electrical Engineer to lead our Electrical function and play a critical role in supporting our operational strategy and technical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal and external teams, including contractors.
- Manage project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Assist in monitoring and planning mine ventilation.
- Provide or coordinate expert mine electrical engineering support to mine sites upon request by Operations or Technical Services.
- Implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and systems.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software (CAD) and related equipment.
- Perform detailed calculations to establish construction and installation standards and specifications.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design specifications, operational standards, and safety requirements.
- Develop specifications for procurement of materials and equipment.
- Oversee project execution to ensure timely, satisfactory, and cost-effective completion.
- Plan layout for power-generating plants and electrical distribution lines.
- Prepare budgets and estimate labor, material, and construction costs for projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience, including at least 5 years in an underground mining environment.
- Experience working in High-Tension / High-Voltage environments.
- High-Tension (HT) Switching Certification.
- ERB professional qualification (essential).
