Description
The Finance Manager, Business Performance and Management Accounting is responsible for overseeing and driving financial performance analysis, management accounting activities, and strategic decision-making processes within the bank (including the bank’s subsidiary).
Key Performance areas:
- Supports the Head of Finance in the implementation of a robust planning and reporting system that enables timely provision of information to the Executive Management for quality of decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess the bank’s performance against key financial metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains to enhance financial performance.
- Prepares monthly management accounts for business units and or branches. Ensures that business units and branches are classified as cost or profit centers.
- Prepares reports and ensures that they clearly reflect policies on cost allocations and cost absorption methods. Uses internal transfer prices for allocation of revenues and costs.
- Oversees the preparation of business unit variance reports, analyzing actual costs against budgeted costs and advises on cost containment strategies.
- Produces product, customer and branch profitability reports monthly for management decision making.
- Responsible for managing the budgeting process throughout the organization on an annual basis. Provides advice to the various business units on budgeting and prepares the consolidated budget for the bank.
- Prepares plans in the long term, including 5-year budget forecasts.
- Develop financial models and projections to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor budget performance throughout the year.
- Identify and analyze budget variances.
- Recommend adjustments to the budget based on performance and changing circumstances.
- Develop accurate financial forecasts based on historical data and current trends.
- Monitor financial performance against forecasts.
- Communicate forecast updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Adjust forecasts as needed based on new information or changes in the business environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and passed finalist or a member of any of the professional accounting bodies – ACCA/CIMA preferred.
Experience:
- Five or more years of Management Accounting and related supervisory experience.
- Member in good standing of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.
- Member in good standing of a professional Body (ACCA, CIMA, CA)
