JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of Poso Insurance by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and contributing to the achievement of revenue targets. This position directly reports to Business Development Manager – Poso Insurance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Key Responsibilities;
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for retail, affinity and corporate segments
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to formulate effective strategies for business growth.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, client preferences, and emerging market opportunities.
• Utilize market information to develop targeted sales and marketing strategies to penetrate the market.
• Manage the sales team (Direct Sales Agents) and collaborate with Customer Service Assistants to develop compelling sales proposals, presentations, and pitches to win new clients.
• Participate in sales activities, including lead generation, prospecting, and negotiation of contracts.
• Develop and implement strategic business plan to achieve revenue growth and margin expansion.
• Coordinate activities with other departments such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their needs, and provide exceptional customer service, identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and renewal of contracts.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to business activities.
• Review and negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
• Stay informed about and strictly adhering to all laws, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) laws, Data Protection laws, and any other relevant regulations applicable in the insurance industry.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal contact information on prospects, clients, and accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS;
• A Bachelor’s Degree in any business discipline.
• Certificate in Long-Term and Short-Term Insurance.

EXPERIENCE;
• A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience within the Insurance industry with prior industry related business development experience. • Proven sales experience from independent contractor, sales representative or distributor background. • Experience in managing Direct Sales Agents.
