Research Assistant (Molepolole site) – BHP

Location: Molepolole | Closing date: 14th November 2025

We seek a motivated, detail oriented, and proactive individual with a keen interest in research to join the Botswana Sexual and Reproductive Health Initiative (BSRHI) as a Research Assistant. BSRHI is a research programme at the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership (BHP) which aims to address important research questions to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes among women and adolescent girls. We conduct research, provide clinical SRH services, and undertake teaching and training. We seek an assertive, flexible, hand on, results driven individuals, with good communication skills and keen interest in research to join our team in the following position. Research Assistant The incumbent will report to the Programme Manager and will assist in identifying and carrying out screening of potential study participants.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Recruitment and follow up of participants according to study standard operating procedures.
• Organize enrolment and follow up appointments for participants and remind participants of upcoming appointments.
• Conduct study questionnaires with participants at enrolment and subsequent study visits.
• Data entry using REDCap data collection software and checking translation of study documents.
• Collect and record basic vital signs such as blood pressure and weight.
• Perform urinary pregnancy tests, rapid HIV tests, counselling and blood collection following training.
• Maintain confidentiality of all participant study information.
• Transport specimens to the Botswana Harvard Laboratory.
• Adherence to Good Clinical Practice and Human Subject Research guidelines.
• Ensuring compliance with study protocols.
• Assist with site administrative tasks including printing of study documents, filing and dispensing of participant reimbursement
• Identify challenges to study implementation and report to the Study Coordinator on a regular basis.
• Assisting in any other duties assigned by senior members of the research team.

Qualification & Experience
• Health related Bachelor’s degree.
• Fluency in both English and Setswana.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.

NB: Tenable in Molepolole.
