TKM Engineering, a local building and civil engineering contractor, is seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the positions listed.
1. BULLDOZER OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate or related
Class B Driver’s Licence
Valid Operator Licence
Certification from Madirelo Training & Testing Centre
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Bulldozer Operator
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in harsh project environments and meet deadlines
Responsibilities
Operate bulldozer safely and efficiently
Perform duties such as clearing, grading, leveling, and excavating
Conduct daily inspections
Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety
Report defects and maintain records
Assist in minor repairs
Work according to project plans using GPS and laser systems
2. EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate or related
Class B Driver’s Licence
Valid Operator Licence
Certification from Madirelo Training & Testing Centre
At least 3 years’ experience
Good communication and attention to detail
Responsibilities
Operate excavator efficiently for digging, trenching, loading, and earth moving
Conduct daily inspections
Maintain equipment
Ensure safety compliance
Report defects
Assist with minor mechanical repairs
3. EXTRA HEAVY DUTY DRIVER
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate or related
Minimum of BGCSE C or better
Valid Class EC Driver’s Licence
Valid PRDP
At least 5 years’ experience driving heavy-duty vehicles
Tow Truck Licence an added advantage
Knowledge of local and SA routes
Ability to work in harsh environments
Responsibilities
Operate heavy-duty vehicles safely
Transport goods and materials according to project needs
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Maintain logbooks and transport documents
Ensure compliance with safety regulations
4. GRADER OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate or related
Class B Driver’s Licenc
Valid Operator Licence
Certification from Madirelo
3 years’ experience as Grader Operator
Good communication and attention to detail
Responsibilities
Operate grader to move materials, shape surfaces, and maintain roadworks
Perform inspections and routine maintenance
Follow project designs using GPS/laser guidance
Maintain records
Report faults
5. HEAVY PLANT MECHANIC
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate
National Craft Certificate in Heavy Plant Mechanics
Or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
3+ years’ experience
Good communication and attention to detail
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair plant equipment
Conduct servicing, maintenance, and safety checks
Maintain servicing records
Ensure compliance with safety standards
6. ROLLER COMPACTOR OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level)
Class B Driver’s Licence
Valid Operator’s Licence
Roller Compactor Certification
3+ years’ experience
Responsibilities
Operate roller to compact earthworks and asphalt
Maintain equipment
Conduct inspections
Report faults
7. TIPPER TRUCK OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate
Class C Driver’s Licence
Valid PRDP
3+ years’ experience in tipper truck operation
Responsibilities
Operate tipper truck safely
Load, transport and dump materials
Conduct inspections
Maintain cleanliness
Report mechanical issues
8. WATER BOWSER OPERATOR
Reports to: Procurement, Assets and Logistics Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
Cambridge (O / Level) Certificate
Class C Driver’s Licence
Valid PRDP
3+ years’ experience as Water Bowser Operator
Good communication skills
Responsibilities:
Operate water bowser
Spray water for construction and dust control
Conduct inspections
Maintain equipment
Report faults
