Position Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science or Analytics                          or equivalent is strongly preferred.
A minimum of Business Analysis, PL/SQL/T-SQL, experience with working with rational database or Equivalent, Application Development, Data Management/Analytics certifications.

Experience: +2 years’ experience working in an IT environment.
Experience with IT System development, implementations and, support and maintenance of core banking systems and other bank applications.
Experience in working in financial environment would be an added advantage.

Competencies: Strong understanding of digital banking technologies, including online banking platforms, mobile banking apps, and other relevant systems.
Able to translate technical jargon to a business audience

Requirements

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  1. Provide day to day support of Enterprise Applications in including Core Banking system, ERP, Payroll systems in Prod, UAT, Dev etc
  2. The primary role involves managing, maintaining, and optimising the central system that supports the Bank’s operations, including customer accounts, transactions and financial services.
  3. Implement and maintain system security, monitor access controls, and ensure adherence to banking regulations and industry standards, including disaster recovery testing.
  4. Oversee the daily operation, stability, and availability of the core banking system and other bank systems, including hardware and software maintenance.
  5. Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions, and provide technical support and troubleshooting to end-users to maximise availability and security of bank systems.
  6. Configure and customize the core banking system and other bank systems to meet business requirements, and ensure timely application of patches, software updates, and new releases.
  7. Analyse, contextualise and clarify client business requirements and documents the requirements.
  8. Adequately test and trouble shoot organisations’ IT Applications before deploying solutions on Production environment. Adherence to Change Management policies, frameworks and standards.
  9. Participate in new projects, implement enhancements to the core banking and other bank systems, and contributing to the integration of new features.
  10. Ability to design and generate reports by extracting and consolidating data from multiple data sources.
  11. Respond to end user queries, incidents and requests for assistance and support.
  12. Train end users on use of software applications.
  13. Basic understanding of data management, backup, storage and disaster recovery processes.
  14. Work, and liaise closely, with bank teams, system vendors, contractors and third-party suppliers on installations and upgrades, maintenance and trouble shooting.
  15. Respond to end user queries and requests for assistance through call centre.
  16. Respond to emergencies and operate on stand-by to provide timely support to technical issues as required.
  17. Maintain logs and records of activities in order to track access, incidents, upgrades, licences, etc.
  18. Where applicable visit sites, test equipment, install up-grades and resolves technical queries within areas of competence.
  19. Liaise with Manager, Business Applications to ensure that all application software is adequately configured.
  20. Demonstrate reliability, honesty and trustworthiness traits and adhere to ethical standards, frameworks and policies.
