Artisan – Boilermaker at SANDFIRE RESOURCES

This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing boilers, vessels, tanks, towers, heat exchangers and other heavy-metal structure. Inspects and repair fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines.

Key Performance Areas

• Inspect and repair fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines.
• Fabricating and installing Liners.
• Laying out plate or sheet steel and marking cuts, bends and welds
• Fitting and welding metal sections together
• Maintaining and repairing chutes
• Directing crane operators during installation or repair of Plant equipment
• Reading and interpreting blueprints
• Preserves records.
• Carry out routine housekeeping tasks to make sure that the work area is clean.
• To undertake such other duties as may be determined by the Supervisor from time to time.

Qualification & Experience

• Mechanical Boilermaker Trade Certificate or National Craft Certificate or related field
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as a Boilermaker in a mining/plant environment
• Knowledge of workplace safety including safe handling, welding, fabrication, racking and lifting procedures
