Description
- Formulate and execute comprehensive operational strategies that are meticulously aligned with SKMTH’s overarching mission, vision, and long-term strategic objectives. Leads the development and execution of long, medium and short term strategies with the goal of increasing shareholder value.
- Cultivate and sustain robust, mutually beneficial relationships with critical internal and external stakeholders, including governmental bodies, academic institutions, and community organizations
- Cultivate and embed a pervasive culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence across all operational domains.
- Promotes a culture of learning within the Hospital and encourages the development of academic research among staff to broaden the Hospital’s capabilities and participation in global health care and clinical advancements.
- Translate the hospital’s strategic vision into actionable operational plans, specifically supporting SKMTH’s quaternary mandate (specialist care, teaching, research).
- Ensures that the Hospital adopts, implements and adheres to international standards of health, safety, environmental protection and in particular, infection control procedures.
- Establishes and ensures the implementation of appropriate budgeting processes to ensure that the Hospital is sufficiently financed to meet its mandate and obligation and effectively manages and controls expenditure.
- Collaborate strategically with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to meticulously manage the operational budget, upholding stringent fiscal responsibility and maximizing cost-effectiveness
Requirements
Minimum of 15 years’ progressive leadership experience in complex healthcare, with at least 7-10 years in a senior operational role (e.g., COO, VP of Operations) within a large tertiary or quaternary hospital. Prior experience in a developing country context, particularly in Africa, is an advantage.
Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Medical degree (MBBS/MD) combined with an MBA/MHA is highly desirable.
