BAC is seeking a versatile and highly capable individual to join their executive  management team as Deputy Executive Director, Corporate Services.  The executive role is pivotal in driving change, operational excellence and providing strategic leadership across all corporate services functions in support of BAC’s mission to be a centre of excellence in higher education.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Executive Director – Corporate Services will provide strategic leadership and oversight of Finance & Procurement, Human Resources, ICT, Facilities Management, and Student Support & Welfare. The role will ensure robust governance, operational efficiency, and value creation while embedding innovation and supporting organisational transformation.

Description

The Job

The position will be responsible for, among others, the following:

Finance,, Risk  & Corporate Governance Oversight

  • Providing  risk, finance and governance oversight,
  • Driving organisational excellence by embedding quality assurance,
  • Ensuring compliance to all relevant legislation, policies and governance standards

Strategy Creation, Execution and Delivery

  • Participating in the formulation of strategy.
  • Providing strategic leadership across all corporate services functions to support BAC’s core business.
  • Translating strategic intent into actionable initiatives and delivering results within agreed timelines.

Human Resources Management

  • Building and retaining top talent by creating a learning culture and succession pipeline for future leaders., as well as, overseeing the development of policies and practices for the management of human resources.

Leading Change

  • Championing change management, innovation, and organisational transformation.

Data Governance

  • Defining and leading the data governance strategy ad ensuring the establishment of enterprise data governance framework, data policies, standards, as well as,  practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business goals.

Technology and Innovation

  • Overseeing the delivery of IT services across all areas of Business Intelligence, Networks and Infrastructure, as well as, System and Application Development.
  • Creating a culture of creativity, experimentation and innovation.
  • Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, redesign and cultivation of new ideas.

Minimum Requirements

The Person

The right candidate will possess the following:

  • A Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Business in a related field, or full membership of a recognised accounting professional body.
  • At least 10 years’ post qualification experience at a senior management level in corporate services within a complex organisation.
  • Proven expertise in strategic management, governance, change leadership, and talent development.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and modern management concepts.
  • Strong financial management, risk oversight and operational planning capabilities.
