Commercial Guest House Receptionist (Francistown @ Molapo Estates)
Job Purpose
A Guesthouse Receptionist or Front Desk Officer is responsible for welcoming guests and acting as their first point of contact. They log issues or requests and pass them to the correct member of staff, provide information and advice to guests, and act as ambassadors for the guesthouse. The position is also charged with establishing, managing, and monitoring standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
• Welcoming guests and checking their details against their bookings
• Allocating guests their rooms and providing keys
• Answering phones from prospective customers and guests, taking messages and delivering them
• Preparing room bills and ensuring prompt payments
• Checking guests out, taking payments, and returning
• Managing Facebook and other social media accounts for the guesthouse.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
• Preparing breakfast, manning the breakfast buffet, and ordering ingredients and supplies.
Qualifications and Requirements
• A recognized Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality or equivalent experience.
• One (1) year post-qualification experience in the hospitality environment.
