This position is responsible for the safe and timely installation of Motheo infrastructure including construction and installation of all electrical and instrumentation equipment.

The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for leading E&I processes and ensuring that all work is delivered safely and in compliance with legislative requirements.

Key Performance Areas

  • Installation and maintenance of process control instrumentation.
  • Adhere to project construction schedule
  • Adhere and comply to Security and Company SHE objectives.
  • Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and wiring schematics
  • Understand, interpret schematics, ladder drawings, technical specifications, manufacture’s manuals, and maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, and control equipment.
  • Provide technical support to all process plant during construction ensuring that the appropriate corrective actions are taken to remedy the situation.
  • Identifying problems with electrical systems and recommending solutions.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and update instrumentation documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Qualification & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification Diploma in Control and Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of National Craft Certificate (NCC) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or industry experience.
  • Industrial plant commissioning and operating experience
  • Must have solid knowledge of SCADA and associated systems.
  • Knowledge and experience on PLCs; and
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance of heavy industrial plants preferably in Mining industries
