Overview
MMG-Khoemacau Copper Mining is looking for a Fuel Administration Assistant to support the safe, efficient, and accurate handling, dispensing, and recording of fuel deliveries for mining equipment and vehicles. The successful candidate will ensure proper fuel management practices to maintain continuous operations and uphold safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor fuel levels in storage tanks and mobile bowsers, reporting any low levels or discrepancies.
- Record issued fuel, including hour meter/kilometre readings, equipment IDs, and operator details.
- Conduct routine checks on fuel dispensing equipment to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Assist with receiving, offloading, and reconciling bulk fuel deliveries from suppliers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date fuel logs and submit daily reports to the supervisor.
- Identify and report leaks, spills, or equipment malfunctions promptly to prevent safety and environmental incidents.
- Ensure adherence to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards during fuel handling operations.
- Maintain fuel storage areas and bowsers in a clean and secure condition.
- Support the implementation of fuel control procedures and participate in audits and stock takes.
- Comply with PPE requirements and all site-specific fuel storage and handling rules.
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum Qualification:
- BGCSE/Form 5 or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in fuel handling, logistics, or a related support role.
- Experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
- Exposure to fuel control or tracking systems is an added advantage.
- Certificate in Fuel Handling, Logistics, or a related field is advantageous.
- Familiarity with fuel dispensing systems and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy.
- Basic understanding of SHEQ and environmental compliance requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
