This Two (2) year structured program aims to cultivate a pipeline of capable professionals within the various business units of our organisation.
The role will involve working directly alongside the geotechnical and mining team to develop skills and knowledge, getting involved in a wide range of aspects involving the Ground Control Management Plan managing uncontrolled fall of ground principal hazard from Slope Monitoring, Slope Design, D&B Designs and implementation ensuring quality control.
Key Performance Areas:
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP)
- Support geotechnical data acquisition through field mapping, core logging, rock strength testing, drill hole analysis, and seepage mapping activities at best practice and standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams i.e Geology, Survey, Mine Planning and Operations to integrate geotechnical considerations into mine design, scheduling and day to day operations
- Prepare and contribute to geotechnical reports, technical documents, and presentations including weekly compliance summaries, wall sign-off packages, and blast design inputs.
- Participate in Slope stability assessments and operate Geotechnical monitoring systems such as Slope Stability Radars, Geomos, Subsurface instrumentation (piezometers and Time Domain Reflectometers) ensuring alignment with GCMP protocols
- Ensuring full compliance to legal requirements through monitoring of Mine slopes & Dumps and ensuring a live legal register is maintained
- Ensuring Geotechnical hazard plans are updated and information timeously disseminated to the right audience at the right platform and forums
- Ensuring Geotechnical critical controls are implemented, maintained and monitored as recommended

Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
- Should have graduated with First Class (1) or Second-Class Upper Division (2:1)
- Entry Level Position.
- Registered or ability to register with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
- Must be in possession of a valid Class B Driver’s License
