Overview
Tsetseng Retail Group is seeking a highly skilled Jigging Engineering Foreman to coordinate and manage jigging operations for the shaft sinking project. This position involves overseeing the procurement, fabrication, and installation of jigged items, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience in jigging activities, specifically with top-hat guides and buntons. This position reports directly to the Shaft Construction Manager/Site Sinking Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
-Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards during jigging activities.
-Set up jigging frames and maintain high accuracy with surveyor involvement.
-Set up guides and make alterations as needed, ensuring detailed QC compliance and traceability.
-Manage and control matching packers, bolts, and colour coding for traceability during shaft set installations.
-Maintain high quality and accuracy in jigging outputs, supporting equipping crews on the shaft.
-Effectively manage time and resources for optimal work ethics and performance.
-Keep accurate maintenance records and daily reports on completed jigging tasks.
-Supervise and coordinate team activities to ensure operational efficiency.
-Generate tables detailing packer requirements per bunton and guide set for shaft installation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
- Valid and relevant Mechanical Trade Certificate (Section 13 or equivalent) with a boilermaking background.
- Skills:
- Additional engineering certifications will be advantageous.
- Experience with jigging operations, including winders, shaft jumbos, Brokk machines, and TMM machinery.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Jigging Foreman in a sinking construction environment.
- Knowledge of shaft sinking and health & safety standards and regulations.
- Other:
- Must be medically fit to work on a sinking shaft (both surface and underground).
- A valid passport is required.
