Overview

MMG-Khoemacau Copper Mining is seeking a Logistics Officer to coordinate and manage logistics operations, including transportation, shipment handling, and documentation. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods, materials, and equipment to support mining operations while maintaining high standards of efficiency and safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee logistics activities related to the transportation, shipment, and distribution of goods.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and all relevant statutory requirements.
  • Monitor shipment schedules to minimise delays and maintain uninterrupted supply to mining operations.
  • Review and prepare all shipping and delivery documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, stock reconciliations, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Track logistics performance KPIs and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in resolving logistics bottlenecks, coordinating expedited deliveries when required.
  • Ensure SHEQ standards are followed for all logistics and material handling activities.
  • Provide regular updates and logistics reports to management.
  • Support cost optimisation strategies in logistics operations to achieve operational efficiencies.

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum Qualification:
    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in logistics operations, preferably within a mining, construction, or heavy industry environment.
    • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., SAPICS, CIPS) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, freight forwarding, and customs clearance.
  • Strong understanding of SHEQ standards and warehousing procedures.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Pronto is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
