Machinist x2 – MAKORO BRICK & TILE (Pty) LTD

Applications are invited from suitably and self-motivated, energetic and innovative qualified persons for the below post tenable at Makoro Brick in Palapye.

MACHINIST x2

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain various machine tools including:
• Lathes (conventional and/or CNC)
• Milling machines
• Boring machines
• Manufacture and repair machine components for production equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specs
• Work closely with the maintenance team to support equipment uptime
• Adhere to safety standards and workshop best practices

Requirements:

• Trade qualification as a Machinist/ Fitter & Turner or equivalent
• Proven experience in general engineering and precision machining
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment
• Experience in the clay brick industry or similar heavy industrial setting is an advantage .
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of day brick manufacturing equipment is a plus
• Ability to fabricate or modify worn parts in-house
• Familiarity with workshop safety and machine calibration
