The position is responsible for supervising contractors in the execution of structural, mechanical, and piping works to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery in line with project requirements.

Description:
The position is responsible for supervising contractors in the execution of structural, mechanical, and piping works to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery in line with project requirements. The position will focus on contractor oversight, quality assurance, technical coordination, and ensuring adherence to schedule, safety, and design specifications.

Key Performance Areas;

• Supervise SMP contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of installation works to verify quality and conformance with design.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule, identify potential delays, and escalate issues to management as required.
• Provide first-line responses to contractor technical queries, escalating complex issues to the Senior Project Engineer or relevant discipline leads.
• Oversee QA/QC documentation, contractor reporting, and ensure proper completion of inspection and test records.
• Facilitate site coordination between contractors and other project disciplines (civil, E&I, operations, etc.).
• Enforce site safety practices by conducting inspections, issuing corrective actions, and supporting incident investigations.
• Assist with contractor administration, including review of progress claims, variations, and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Support handover and commissioning activities by ensuring punch-list items are addressed and as-built records are maintained.
• Maintain professional communication with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, standards, and deliverables.

• Proven ability to manage contractors, schedules, and site activities effectively.
• Sound understanding of QA/QC processes and construction standards.

• Ability to coordinate between site construction teams, vendors, and the broader project management.

Qualification & Experience;

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural, mechanical, and piping works within mining, heavy industry, or large-scale construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in contractor supervision and project execution, site-based roles preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Registration with a recognised professional Engineering or Construction body (ERB) highly desirable.
