Purchasing Officer at SANDFIRE RESOURCES
Construction, Ghanzi, BOTSWANA
The position will be responsible for all purchasing and expediting activities relating to the Motheo A4 construction project, including liaising with suppliers and transport operators to pre-empt deliveries and support the materials team.
- Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
- Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
- Issuing RFQ and RFP to vendors, reviewing quotes and submissions
- Adjudicating and recommending suppliers based on cost and commercial terms
- Process internal purchase requests and submit to the project team for processing.
- Expediting of open orders to ensure delivery dates are achieved in line with construction deadlines
- Liaising with suppliers and Accounts to resolve invoicing and delivery issues
- Liaising with the transport company to understand inbound deliveries and coordinate collections
- Liaise with the materials team on site for various daily tasks
- Establishing professional relationships vendors and suppliers.
| Selection Criteria | |
| Qualifications: | · Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
· Membership of a Procurement Professional body (CIPS) Level 4 · Valid Botswana Class B Drivers Licence |
| Experience: | · 3 years’ experience in mining Supply Chain Management,
· Mining industry experience or a similar environment will be an added advantage · Experience with competitive tendering processes and RFQ |
