Recruitment Dates: What You Must Know

The nationwide recruitment drive began on 30 June 2025

The closing date for online applications is 18 July 2025 at 16:00
Applications are open to 5,500 entry‑level police trainees for the 2025/2026 financial year
✅ Eligibility & Requirements
General entry‑level trainee applicants:

South African citizen, aged 18 to 35

Clean criminal record, no pending charges

Senior Certificate (matric) or equivalent qualification
-
Must be medically fit, pass physical, psychometric, integrity assessments and fingerprint screenings
Specialized graduate units:
-
Degrees in Law, Criminology, Policing, Forensic Science, IT may qualify for specialized roles (e.g. investigator, cybercrime, forensics)
Additional rules:

No fees required, and beware of scams—use only the official SAPS e‑recruitment portal

Z83 Form (2021 version), ID, matric certificate, CV required for shortlisted candidates
