Description

Position Requirements:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information system, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Additional qualifications such as Security+, CySA+, CSA, CEH, CISA would be an added advantage

Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience working in a Cyber Security environment (preferably in a security operations or a bank/mass market financial institution) are highly preferred.

Competencies: Hands-on experience in cybersecurity or a similar technical role
Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g. SIEM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS)
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
Effect communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members
Ability to work without close supervision

Requirements

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats.
2. Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with penetration testing.
3. Investigate security incidents, including analysing logs, identifying attack vectors, and documenting findings.
4. Assist in the implementation and management of security tools and technologies.
5. Support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
6. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the integration of security practices into the organisation’s infrastructure.
7. Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
8. Prepare and present reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk assessments.
9. Provide support for security awareness training and initiatives.
10. Respond to end user queries and requests for assistance and support.
11. Work, and liaise closely, with vendors, contractors and third-party suppliers on installations and upgrades, maintenance and trouble shooting.
12. Make recommendations for ICT systems and installation up-grades and designs.
13. Respond to emergencies and operate on stand-by to provide timely support to technical issues as required.
14. Maintain logs and records of activities in order to track access, incidents, upgrades, licences, etc.
15. Liaise with Manager, Cyber Security to ensure that all installations are adequately protected.
