Overview
Tsetseng Retail Group is seeking a Shaft Sinking Senior Master Sinker to manage the operational performance of a sinking construction project. This role includes planning, production operations, procurement, and people management, ensuring that projects meet contractual obligations within safety, quality, and budget standards.
Key Responsibilities
–Project and Operations Management: Oversee project execution, budget control, and operational performance.
–Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
–People and Resource Management: Manage teams, allocate resources, and ensure efficient utilization.
–SHEQ Compliance: Adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificates:
- Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency.
- Blasting Certificate & Shift Manager/Foreman Certificate.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in vertical shaft sinking, including planning and execution of shaft equipping and commissioning.
- 10+ years in off-shaft development, silo sinking, and equipping.
- 5+ years as a Shift Foreman or Boss.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of contractual commercial terms (FIDIC and NEC knowledge).
- Knowledge of emergency and shaft rescue procedures.
- Familiarity with mining standards, operating procedures, risk management, and industrial relations.
- Proficient in quality management methods (ISO 9000) and health & safety regulations.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
- Advantageous Qualifications:
- Onsetter’s Certificate.
- Project Management qualification or Mine Manager’s Certificate (project-dependent).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
