Accounts And Finance Officer – SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund

SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund is seeking an Accounts and Finance Officer in Maun to manage financial records, budgets, and compliance for donor-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions
- Process payments, invoices, receipts, journals and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, and budget-versus-actuals reports
- Manage petty cash and banking activities in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring of organisational and project budgets
- Support payroll administration and statutory deductions
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, financial policies, and national laws and regulations
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents and supporting documents
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Monitor expenditure and provide financial advice to programme and management teams
- Support procurement and ensure appropriate financial controls are followed
- Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A degree or Diploma Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Professional Accounting qualification or relevant membership is an added advantage.
- Current registration with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
- Practical knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar. Experience with systems will be an added advantage.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, and donor-funded projects.
- At least a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an accounting or finance-related role, preferably working with NGOs.
- Knowledge of Botswana’s tax statutory, and financial reporting requirements is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proven 4×4/off-road driving experience in remote and challenging terrain.
- Valid Class B driver’s licence.
