About the Grant Writer Position

Key Responsibilities
The Grant Writer will be responsible for several areas of fundraising and development, including:
- Researching foundations, NGOs, and institutional funders that align with the organization’s programs.

- Building and maintaining a live grants pipeline using platforms such as Asana and HubSpot.
- Tracking application deadlines, follow-ups, and funder communications.
- Writing and editing grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
- Working with internal stakeholders to collect program data and develop compelling funding narratives.
- Supporting the development of grant budgets and related documentation.
- Maintaining a six- to twelve-month forward-looking grants pipeline.
- Supporting reporting requirements for successful grants.
- Maintaining strong relationships with funders and prospective funding partners.
- Providing weekly updates on pipeline progress and next steps.
- Identifying and advancing three to five qualified funding prospects each month.
- Maintaining a library of reusable narratives, budgets, attachments, program descriptions, and other proposal materials.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have three to five years of successful grant writing experience, including demonstrated experience managing grants from prospect research through proposal development and submission.
Candidates should also have experience developing grant project budgets, managing funding pipelines, and communicating with prospective funders.
Strong research and writing abilities are essential. Familiarity with funding databases such as Candid/Foundation Directory, GrantStation, Instrumentl, or comparable platforms is an advantage.
Experience using CRM and project management platforms such as HubSpot and Asana is also desirable.
The organization is seeking someone with excellent storytelling and editing skills who can translate complex programmatic information into clear and persuasive proposals for funders.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently are equally important.
