Truck Assistant – Gaborone
Job Summary
To support the truck driver with the safe and efficient loading, offloading, and delivery of parcels and cargo on assigned routes. The role assists with route stops, consignment handling, basic documentation, and vehicle checks, helping ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Position Requirements
Education:
– Junior Certificate/BGCSE (or equivalent)
Experience:
– At least 1 year’s experience as a truck assistant, loader, or in a similar courier/logistics support role
– Experience handling parcels, cargo, or general freight is an advantage
Other:
– A valid driver’s licence is an added advantage
Skills and Competencies
– Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels/cargo
– Basic knowledge of loading, offloading, and stacking procedures
– Attention to detail in checking consignment notes and waybills
– Punctuality and reliability
– Good communication and teamwork with the driver and branch staff
– Willingness to travel on assigned routes and work flexible hours
