Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd operates the Karowe Diamond Mine at Letlhakane in the Boteti sub district. The plant was commissioned in April 2012 and has gone on to achieve exceptional performance. It is the source of some truly special diamonds. The plant completed major upgrades that include introduction of X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology in diamond recovery. This is adding to the already existing innovative application of autonomous milling in diamond processing. The Company is embarking on projects, which entail enhanced large diamond recovery.

ASSISTANT SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
Job Summary
Responsible for providing technical support to the software technician in the design, development, installation and maintenance of plant control systems, distributed control system, SCADA and its related plant networks and telemetry.

Qualification & Experience
- Recognised Technician Diploma in Electronics / Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Light vehicle drivers’ license.
- Registered with the Engineering Registration Board.
- Knowledge of PLC programming.
- Training in SHE.
- 3 years post qualification experience, 1 of which should have been in a similar position.
