Job Purpose

Reporting to the Specialist: Control Room, the position will be responsible for monitoring employees, customers and the product by operating and maintaining CCTV system, watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage, reporting incidents or suspicious behaviour and contacting their seniors, when necessary, in adherence with security processes, protocols, methods and procedures.

The Job

The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:

  • Preventing potential security threats by monitoring security surveillance for the live feeds.
  • Preventing technical issues that could compromise the effectiveness of the security infrastructure by conducting regular checks on the functionality of CCTV cameras, associated equipment, routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring a comprehensive record of security-related events by documenting and lodging accidents through the CCTV system.
  • Enhancing a robust security posture and responding effectively to emerging threats or policy violations by reporting all security breaches ad potential security problems, irregularities and violators of policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring a safe, accurate and on time movement of goods during import and export by collaborating with a trustworthy shipment partner for the execution of shipment protocols diligently.
  • Securing diamond inventory and preventing losses by adhering to security protocols during movement of people and product through adherence to SOPs.
  • Reducing security risks by detecting and noticing emergencies / risks, deterring potential criminals through patrols, observing areas using tactical training and CCTV for surveillance and reporting.
  • Ensuring effective cost control and governance compliance by adhering to policies.
  • Improving SHEQ compliance by applying standards, following procedures, attending training, and promoting safety awareness.

The Person

The right candidate will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • A BGCSE and a CCTV Operator Certificate.
  • 3 years’ CCTV operation experience including experience in a relevant high security and professional environment.
  • Strong expertise in the security and movement of diamond products.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of diamond security systems, protocols and access controls.
  • A pronounced knowledge of body language and paying attention to detail.
