Mindea Exploration and Drilling Services is a 100% locally owned drilling services company operating in Botswana’s mining industry. The company is looking for Batswana who are keen to join a dynamic team that will be impacting mining operations through safe and sustainable project execution. 1. Project Manager (MD01)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification – Diploma in mining engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years working in open pit mining or drilling operations
  • Focus on maximizing equipment utilization, ensuring blast-hole accuracy, and solving complex ground challenges
  • Must have knowledge SHEQ management and control systems
  • Deep understanding of blast hole, drilling methods and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of mine safety rules and risk management
  • Ability to manage project budgets, costs, and client contracts
  • Good spoken and written skills to lead crews and talk to clients
  • Understand legal terms, scope boundaries, and variation clauses within drilling contracts
  • Familiarity with major OEM drills, including Epiroc, Sandvik and other similar class of equipment
  • Valid Botswana Open Cast Blasting License
  • Engineers Registration Board of Botswana registration an added advantage

2. Production Manager (MD02)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification – Diploma in mining engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in open pit drilling and blasting operations
  • At least 5 years in a senior management or production leadership role
  • Proven ability to manage large fleets of drilling rigs and heavy equipment
  • Strong focus on safety compliance, risk management, and zero-harm targets
  • Excellent budgeting, cost control, and contract management abilities
  • Advanced leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
  • Familiarity with major OEM drills, including Epiroc, Sandvik and other similar class of equipment
  • Valid Botswana Open Cast Blasting License
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence
  • Engineers Registration Board of Botswana registration an added advantage

3. Production Supervisor (MD03)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum – must have passed form 5 or equivalent (tertiary qualification is an advantage)
  • Must have been appointed as an 18(1) legal appointee under the MQWMA of Botswana for over 3 years in a high production environment, specifically in open pit drilling
  • Key focus on quality and operational controls to ensure efficiencies and productivity
  • Strong focus on safety compliance, risk management, and zero-harm targets
  • Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed at all times
  • He identifies potential risks, implements preventive measures and trains the team to adopt safe work practices
  • Familiarity with major OEM drills, including Epiroc, Sandvik and other similar class of equipment
  • Valid Botswana Open Cast Blasting License
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence

4. Maintenance Head of Department (MD04)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification – NCC – Heavy Plant Mechanic
  • Experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) audits and analysis
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, including HIRA and legal appointments
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience in rebuilding of earth moving machines
  • Oversee workshop budgets, parts procurement, job costing, and resource allocation
  • Supervise, mentor, and train technical staff, fitters, and apprentices
  • Ensure maintenance tracking via computerized asset management software and compliance with ISO quality standards
  • Must have knowledge SHEQ management and control systems
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading teams in a mining environment

5. Artisan Mechanic (MD05)

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCC – Heavy Plant Mechanic or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience on Epiroc, Sandvik and other major OEM open pit drills
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems
  • Read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and blueprints
  • Complete job cards, daily service reports, and accurately log parts usage
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit

6. Service Personnel (MD06)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Trade Test B in Maintenance Fitting/ Auto Mechanics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on Epiroc, Sandvik and other major OEM open pit drills
  • Experience must include service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class C Driving License will be an added advantage
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit
  • Prepared to work Contops shift

7. Artisan Auto-Mechanic (MD07)

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCC – Auto Mechanic or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on ancillary equipment, vehicles, HMVs and similar in a mining environment
  • Read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and blueprints
  • Complete job cards, daily service reports, and accurately log parts usage
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit
  • Prepared to work Contops shift

8. Aircon-Technician (MD08)

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma – Air conditioning and refrigeration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on air-conditioning and refrigeration related to mining equipment
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of Aircon system in Machinery
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit
  • Prepared to work Contops shift

9. Grease Technician (MD09)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Trade test C in Auto Mechanics / Maintenance Fitting or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on lubrication and greasing systems related to mining equipment
  • Knowledge of different grease types and application volumes
  • Good problem-solving and equipment inspection skills
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit
  • Prepared to work Contops shift

10. Artisan Boilermaker (MD10)

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCC – Welding and Fabrication or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience boiler making and welding within a heavy industrial or mining/processing plant environment
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from complex engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Coded welding Certified or skilled in MIG, TIG, Arc, and oxy-acetylene gas cutting/welding
  • Understanding drilling GET will be an advantage
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit

11. Semi-skilled Mechanics (MD11)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Trade test C or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on repairs and maintenance work related to mining equipment
  • Conduct basic visual checks on hoses, fittings, and moving parts, reporting any defects or safety hazards immediately
  • Assist fully qualified artisans with the repair, servicing, and routine maintenance
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit
  • Prepared to work Contops shift

12. Auto-electrician (MD12)

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCC in Auto Electrics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on mining equipment
  • Background in troubleshooting complex electrical and electronic control systems in drills is critical
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals
  • Perform fault-finding and repairs on starter motors, alternators, wiring harnesses, sensors
  • Perform fault findings on electronic control modules (ECMs) and CAN-BUS systems
  • Experience must include commissioning, service, maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Class B Driving License
  • You must have your own comprehensive tool kit

13. Plant Administration Officer (MD13)

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years working in a heavy plant, mining equipment, or engineering workshop environment
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and enterprise asset management or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, Syspro, or AMT)
  • Experience in record keeping and archiving in a typical mining maintenance environment are critical
  • Coordinating spare parts availability, raising purchase orders and tracking supplier deliveries with the procurement department
  • Updating fleet availability metrics, capturing equipment maintenance costs, and generating routine performance reports
  • Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace

14. Mining Engineer (MD14)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mining Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Botswana Open Cast Blasting License
  • Engineers Registration Board of Botswana registration an added advantage
  • At least 5 years practical experiences within mining operations
  • Data analysis skills and proficient use of a computer
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence
  • Willing to work extended hours
  • Self-starter with initiative and practical problem-solving skills are integral to success in this position

  • To have worked as a production supervisor is an added advantage
  • Any supervisory or leadership development programme is an advantage

15. GET Coordinator (MD15)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certificate level qualification relevant to administration function in an open pit mining operations
  • This specialized role bridges the gap between maintenance, logistics, and site operations to minimize equipment downtime and reduce cost-per-meter
  • Focus on tracking, optimizing, and managing the wear life of all drilling consumables
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of field experience handling heavy earthmoving or drilling machine consumables
  • Proven ability to monitor, measure, and analyse wear profiles on GET
  • Skill in identifying causes of premature component failures, such as over-drilling, improper feed pressure, or structural fatigue
  • Product Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of major OEM GET lines
  • Proficiency in MS Office software or similar, especially spreadsheets for analysis reporting
  • Must have knowledge SHEQ management and control systems

16. Drill Rig Operator (MD16)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience on Epiroc DM30, Sandvik DP1500, Di650 Drill Rigs or similar model drills
  • Class B Botswana valid driving license
  • 4 years minimum experience in an open pit mining environment
  • Certificate of Competency as a drill rig operator
  • Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace

17. Bowser Operator (MD17)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior Certificate or equivalent and must be able to read and write Setswana or English
  • Class C License and PRDP Hazardous special license
  • 5 years’ experience driving heavy duty vehicle in an open pit mining operation
  • Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace

18. Drill Rig Assistants (MD18)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior Certificate or equivalent and must be able to read and write Setswana or English
  • 3 years’ experience in an open pit environment as a drill assistant
  • Be prepared to undertake any other duties assigned
  • Experience in operating a drill is an advantage
  • Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace

19. Quality Control Assistants (MD19)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior Certificate or equivalent and must be able to read and write Setswana or English
  • 2 years’ experience in an open pit environment in either a drilling or blasting environment
  • Working as a quality control assistant in production drilling an advantage
  • Be prepared to undertake any other duties assigned
  • Experience in operating a drill is an advantage
  • Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace

20. Quality Controller (MD20)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Junior Certificate or equivalent and must be able to read and write Setswana or English
  • 2 years’ experience in drilling quality control
  • Must be proficient in record keeping and drilling production reconciliation
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence
  • Must have knowledge SHEQ management and control systems
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office software especially MS Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with high level of proficiency in terms of record keeping and archiving both hard and soft copy documentation related to drilling meters

21. Senior Human Capital Officer (MD21)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or equivalent
  • 5 years of mining sector experience, and strong industrial relations expertise
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and contract administration
  • Advise line managers on employee relations, disciplinary hearings, and grievance handling
  • Ensure labor deployment aligns with approved operational budgets and headcount targets
  • Coordinate training, talent management, and performance appraisal systems
  • Monitor compliance with local labor laws, health and safety protocols, and company policies

22. Human Capital Administrator (MD22)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in HR Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably within heavy industry, manufacturing, or a mining environment
  • Provide efficient human resources administration, data management, and coordination services across the employee life cycle
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic (e-filing) employee records, update HR databases
  • Generate routine workforce reports, assist with industrial relations administration
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office especially MS Word and Excel (Advanced Excel required) and working knowledge of HR information systems (e.g., SAGE 300, VIP)

23. Training Officer (MD23)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Human Resources, Training, Education or equivalent
  • Assessor/moderator certification along with mining-specific certificates
  • Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions and assess employee competencies
  • Support technical and soft skills development aligned to the training plans of different departments
  • Identify skills gaps and evaluate training program developed for their effectiveness
  • Keep accurate records of training documentation, portfolios of evidence, and safety reports
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office software especially MS Word and Excel
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence
  • Must have knowledge SHEQ management and control systems

24. Stores Personnel (MD24)

Minimum Requirements:

  • BGCSE, O’Level or equivalent
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office software especially MS Word and Excel
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery notes for accuracy
  • Organise, label, and safely store inventory, including heavy machinery parts and hazardous chemicals
  • Process stock requisitions and issue tools, spare parts, and PPE to maintenance and operations teams
  • Conduct regular cyclical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies in the inventory database
  • Maintain a clean, hazard-free warehouse environment adhering to strict mine safety protocols
  • Commitment to a zero-harm safety culture

25. Project Accountant (MD25)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, or CA) are a strong advantage
  • Minimum 3–5 years of dedicated experience in project accounting or cost controlling within mining, construction, or heavy manufacturing
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective communication for liaising with site operations
  • Monitor capital expenditure (CapEx), work-in-progress (WIP), and project milestones against approved budgets
  • Review and approve supplier quotations, invoice and manage purchase order system
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis, project financial packs, and cash flow forecasts
  • Work with HODs and operations teams on cost optimization
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and IFRS accounting standards

  • Ensure adherence to all BURS requirements
