Senior Advisor Stakeholder and China Relations – MMG-KHOEMACAU MINE

The Senior Advisor Stakeholder and China Relations will be responsible for acting as the function lead for all Stakeholder communications and China relations strategy across Khoemacau Copper Mining (KCM). The incumbent owns the full delivery of MMG’s Chinese Champion strategy, leading sustained high-level relationship building with MMG’s major Chinese shareholders and key Chinese stakeholders and driving cross-functional alignment to unlock Chinese industry resources and advantages to lift overall business performance. The role shapes and safeguards KCM’s reputable brand image among Chinese authorities, investors, diplomatic bodies and global industry stakeholders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
• Serving as Khoemacau Copper Mining’s (KCM) primary senior liaison with core major shareholders including CMC, CMN and CNIC, responsible for information sharing to major shareholders, translation and drafting of promotional materials and news publicity, as well as compilation and drafting of reporting/speech documents.
• Leading full-cycle planning for all senior shareholder executive visits, high-level meetings and delegations; overseeing agenda design, cross-department coordination, VIP reception protocols, post-event follow-up and relationship maintenance tracking.
• Owning high-level partnership development with all Chinalinked key stakeholders in Botswana and China, including but not limited to the Chinese Embassy, the Botswana Embassy in Beijing, and Chinese Enterprises Association, etc.
• Leading Chinese-English written translation for KCM reports and documentations where required; and also interpretation, both pre-prepared and impromptu, for visiting groups and KCM leadership where required.
• Overseeing the full management system for Chinese expatriate staff facilities in Gaborone, including company vehicles, and residential apartments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Journalism and Communications, International relations, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Masters Degree in any of the above will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in international relations or related disciplines
• Mandarin native proficiency and fluent professional English (both mandatory)
• Extensive senior-level experience in Chinese official document drafting, report compilation and corporate external publicity for large state-owned enterprises or government
