Main Purpose of the Job
To provide specialist Geographic Information Systems (GIS) capability that enables EICB to capture, manage, analyse, model, visualise and interpret spatial information, supporting mineral exploration, mineral resource planning, investment analysis, operational planning and evidence-based decision-making.
The role ensures the availability, quality, integrity and effective use of geospatial data, systems and analytical outputs while supporting GIS standards, governance, technology adoption and stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply spatial analytical and modelling techniques to generate insights that support exploration, mineral resource planning, investment and operational decisions.
- Convert complex spatial information into accurate, clear and decision-useful maps, dashboards and visualisations
- Support the effective operation, enhancement and adoption of GIS applications, platforms and technologies across EICB.
- Transform geospatial data into actionable intelligence that supports evidence-based planning, prioritisation and decision-making
- Promote consistent, governed and effective use of GIS through standards, procedures, knowledge sharing and responsive stakeholder support.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with post-graduate degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geospatial Science, Geography, Surveying, Remote Sensing or a closely related discipline.
- Professional certification or postgraduate qualification in GIS, geospatial science, spatial analysis, remote sensing or a related field would be an advantage.
- Relevant training/certification in major GIS platforms and technologies is advantageous.
Required Experience
- 6–8 Years relevant experience in GIS, geospatial data management, spatial analysis, mapping and GIS applications.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining geodatabases and spatial datasets.
- Practical experience in spatial analysis, modelling, cartography and GIS visualisation.
- Experience supporting GIS applications, users and technology environments.
- Experience integrating spatial information with geological, environmental, infrastructure, business or other technical datasets would be advantageous.
- Experience in the mining, mineral exploration, natural resources, infrastructure or investment environment would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience translating technical spatial information into practical decision-support outputs.
