Advisor Stakeholder and China Relations – MMG-KHOEMACAU MINE

This role reports to the Senior Advisor Stakeholder & China Relations and will be responsible for delivering day-to-day operational execution of MMG’s Chinese Champion strategy and supporting all shareholder, diplomatic and Chinese stakeholder engagement work. The role executes routine liaison, document drafting, translation, event coordination and Chinese expatriate admin support under the guidance of the Senior Advisor Stakeholder & China Relations, assisting in maintaining positive KCM brand image with Chinese stakeholders, and supports the establishment of efficient cross-border information sharing mechanisms.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
• Acting as the daily operational liaison between KCM and major shareholders (CMC, CMN, CNIC); conducting routine information synchronization, draft promotional materials, news releases and formal reporting/speech documents for review.
• Supporting the supervisor on shareholder senior delegation visits: complete agenda drafting, venue & logistics arrangement, cross-department coordination follow-up and meeting minutes collation.
• Supporting sustained routine communication with Chinese Embassy in Botswana, Botswana Embassy in Beijing, Chinese Enterprises Association and other China-linked stakeholders; compiling regular contact records and stakeholder information archives.
• Preparing supporting briefing materials, logistics checklists and meeting records for all China-related executive trips and high-level engagements.
• Delivering complete written Chinese-English translation for KCM operational reports, corporate documents and internal circulars and also on-demand interpretation for KCM leadership meetings, site tours and routine Chinese stakeholder communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Journalism and Communications, International relations, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in international relations or related disciplines
• Language skills English (essential), Mandarin (essential)
• Solid practical experience in Chinese official writing, capable of drafting standard reports, corporate briefings/speeches and publicity manuscripts.
• Hands on Chinese and English written translation, on-site interpretation.
• Practical experience in routine liaison with Chinese enterprises or institutional stakeholders.
• Working experience within Chinese government organs, public institutions or state-owned enterprises is a strong advantage.
• Overseas study, living or working background preferred; mining industry administrative or stakeholder support experience considered a plus.
